Phone calls
Inmates will have the choice between making collect calls or using the phone service that the Schenectady County Jail provides, NCIC Inmate Telephone Services.
The NCIC Inmate Telephone Services is a third-party service that inmates and their families can opt in. This service is not free. This service will require inmates to have money in their phone account, if they want to make calls home.
Inmates are limited to 15-minute calls daily. This is to allow all inmates in the Schenectady County Jail to have time to use the telephone.
Visitation
The Schenectady County Jail will allow family and friends of these inmates to have non-contact visits with their loved ones.
These non-contact visits will be behind glass walls. You will not have any chance to kiss or hug the inmate.
All visits in the Schenectady County Jail will be heavily monitored.
