Sending a Mail/Care Package

Sending Money
The easiest way to fund an inmate’s books is to bring a money order down to the New York County Sheriff's Jail when you are going to visit them. The correctional officers in the lobby can deposit the money into the inmate’s accounts. Money will be available in a few days for the inmate to use.
Phone calls
Inmates will have the choice between making collect calls or using the phone service that the New York County Sheriff's Jail provides, NCIC Inmate Telephone Services.
The NCIC Inmate Telephone Services is a third-party service that inmates and their families can opt in. This service is not free. This service will require inmates to have money in their phone account, if they want to make calls home.
Inmates are limited to 15-minute calls daily. This is to allow all inmates in the New York County Sheriff's Jail to have time to use the telephone.
Visitation
The New York County Sheriff's Jail will allow family and friends of these inmates to have non-contact visits with their loved ones.
These non-contact visits will be behind glass walls. You will not have any chance to kiss or hug the inmate.
All visits in the New York County Sheriff's Jail will be heavily monitored.
Inmates are permitted to have up to two visits per day. Visits can be anytime during the week from 9 am to 6 pm.
