Sending a Mail/Care Package
Inmates will have the luxury of sending and receiving mail from you. Inmates can purchase the supplies to send the mail from the prison commissary. You will NOT be permitted to send inmates supplies to send letters. This material will be confiscated.
Sending Money
Money is going to be a vital part of an inmate’s life. Without money, they will not be permitted to use the Lafayette County Jail telephone service or even purchase what they need in the prison canteen.
Money can be in the form of a money order. Cash and personal checks will NOT be accepted.
If you are going to send a money order to the Lafayette County Jail, you will need to use the United States Postal Service. Please do not overnight it or use another mail delivery carrier.
Phone calls
Inmates in the Lafayette County Jail will have the option of calling collect or using TelMate Inmate Calling.
Inmates can choose which option they would like to use. Just to keep it simple calling collect will be free for the inmate but charge the recipient while using the TelMate Inmate Calling will charge the inmate and not the recipient.
Visitation
If you miss your loved one who is in the Lafayette County Jail, you will be happy to know that the facility has visiting hours Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm.
Visits will be no-contact visits. All inmates will be permitted to have a maximum of 2 visitors a day.
You should also note that if you do not live close to the Lafayette County Jail, you can contact them to set up a video visitation appointment.
