The St. Louis County Juvenile Detention first and foremost opened its doors back in 1982. It was not until 2000 when the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention saw a much-needed renovation and expansion.
The St. Louis County Juvenile Detention originally only had a capacity of housing 50 inmates and after the expansions and renovation in 2000, the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention can house up to 20 inmates. This makes St. Louis County Juvenile Detention one of the bigger county jails within the entire state of Duluth.

You are probably wondering why an inmate will need money in the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention. They need money to use the telephone and they need money for extra things that the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention does not supply.
You can mail or drop off the money order at your leisure.
Phone calls
Securus Technologies is more than a phone service here at the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention. It also operates their video visitation as well.
Inmates are limited to having 15-minute phone calls throughout 7 am to 10 pm. The telephones are in the common area in the housing units.
Inmates can use them when they have some downtime to talk to their loved ones back home.
Visitation
Visitation at the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention will run every day between the hours of 8 am to 10:30 pm. The visits at the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention will strictly be video visits using a video visit software.
All visitors will be required to have an account with the video visitation software to be able to visit. Inmates can have 20 minutes for this video visit.
You can visit the inmate using this software directly from the video stations that are in the jail lobby or you can do so at home.
