The Webster County Detention Center officially opened in 1984. It was not until 2005 when the Webster County Detention Center underwent a renovation and expansion.
The original 1984 jail could only house 39 inmates, but with the new expansion, the Webster County Detention Center can now house up to 250 inmates.
