The main mission here at the Ansonia Jail is to provide a safe and effective environment for all offenders that they house. The offenders will be provided with many services that he or she can take advantage of to help them not re-offend soon.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

One way to keep in contact with an inmate is to become his or her pen pals. You will only be permitted to send handwritten letters to said inmate. You will not be permitted to send photos or greeting cards to an inmate.

Sending Money

If an inmate asks you for money when they are in the Ansonia Jail, you will not be permitted to send them the funds.

The Ansonia Jail does not allow you to drop off or mail an inmate any money while they are in their custody.

An inmate in the Ansonia Jail has NO use for money when in there as the facility will provide, he or she with everything they need.

Phone calls

You will not be permitted to contact inmates via the telephone. However, inmates will be permitted to contact you via the telephone. Inmates in the Ansonia Jail will only be permitted to call you collect.

All telephone calls that an inmate will make will be monitored and recorded for safety purposes. You will need to agree to accept a collect call prior to being connected with an inmate.

Visitation

If you would like to visit an inmate while he or she is in the Ansonia Jail, you will need to first call up the correctional facility and see when they allow visitors.

When you find out when they allow visitors, you will need to make sure that everyone in your visitation party has a government issued photo identification card and that everyone in your party is dressed appropriately.

The Ansonia Jail will not permit anyone under the age of 18 to visit an inmate in their facility.
