The Sonoma County Probation Camp first and foremost opened its doors back in 1982. It was not until 2000 when the Sonoma County Probation Camp saw a much-needed renovation and expansion.

The Sonoma County Probation Camp originally only had a capacity of housing 50 inmates and after the expansions and renovation in 2000, the Sonoma County Probation Camp can house up to 24 inmates. This makes Sonoma County Probation Camp one of the bigger county jails within the entire state of Forestville.
