The Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility is operated by the Kenai Peninsula Borough County Sheriff’s Department. The Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility is a medium-security facility that mainly houses pre-trial detainees. The facility will also house already sentenced inmates who have 24 months left on their sentences as well.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

You will be allowed to send an inmate who is sentenced and staying in the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility mail. If the inmate is just in the facility for a short-term time frame, you will NOT be permitted to send them mail until they either get released or transferred out to their permanent facility.

Sending Money

Everyone believes that the jails will supply everything the inmate needs. In a sense, they do. They will supply inmates with three meals a day and the ability to use the bathrooms. But inmates will need to purchase things like personal hygiene products, entertainment items, and can purchase extra food.

To give an inmate money, you can either mail a money order with the inmate’s name and ID number on it, or you can drop the money order off when you come down to the facility to visit.

Phone calls

Inmates will have the chance to contact their friends and family by making collect calls. Inmates will only be allowed to make collect calls. The inmate or the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility will not be responsible for fees.

Visitation

All visits in the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility will be non-contact visits. All this means is your visit will be through a glass partition.

Inmates in the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility will be permitted to have two visitors per day. You will be permitted to come down to the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility to visit daily between 9 am to 6 pm.
